Great product! |

I have been using Combray for almost a year now and really like the
results. I suffer from rosacea with redness and skin papules and
pustules. Since using the Combray my skin has calmed down considerably
and I don't experience as many bumps on my face which is a huge
improvement. I also have taken several antibiotics to help control my
rosacea over the past few years but since using the Combray I have been
able to lower the dosages by more than half of what I was previously
taking before using this great product. Thank you for making such a
great product and I look forward to seeing continued results... |

With only 2 in ingredients, I was a little skeptical about this product
- all I can say is WOW!
I have rosacea and my face is always red and blotchy ! I massage on the
suggested 6 drops at night after washing my face, and few drops in the
morning after cleansing and before makeup - it doesn't leave my skin
oily - I noticed results right away! I feel like I have a new - younger
looking face! I'll definitely keep using this product! Right now it's
gold to me! The bottle has approx 600 drops (100 day supply)-

Combray for Rosacea |
| Reviewer: Theresa Valentic
from San Carlos, CA United States

Dear Solenne,
I would like to thank you for developing your
product, Combray. I have used it for the past three weeks and I have
experienced a noticable difference in the appearance of my skin. The
surface of my skin is now smoother and calmer with less discoloration,
more moisture and suppleness and smaller pores.
I have suffered
from rosacea for many years and have tried some of the best products in
the market. The antioxidant products that I have used from high end
spas and department stores caused some acne and dryness did not help my
rosacea. The products I've used from the dermatologist caused my face
to become even redder and inflamed.
Although I was hesitant to
try Combray due to the oil content; I actually found that it helps my
skin like nothing I've ever experienced. I would like to help you
spread the word about your amazing product. I believe it can help
others just as it has helped me!
Thank you again and best regards,
Theresa S. Valentic San Carlos, CA

My esthetician, Lucy Boland, generously offered me a sample of Combray
0.3% for treatment of my rosacea. I used it for approximately four
weeks, twice a day, and it left my skin more supple and the color more
even than any product I have previously tried. I would welcome the
opportunity to use it again.

Rosacea and Oxofulleram
Rosacea is an inflammation of the skin (normally the face) characterized by redness, blushing easily, in some cases noticeable blood vessels, and in more severe cases also pimples and nodules. A single, precise cause of rosacea is not known and it is possible that there is not one single cause, but several, and rosacea could in fact be a result of an alteration of the immune system (Yamasaki, K., Gallo, R. L, The Molecular Pathology of Rosacea, J. Dermatol Sci. 2009 Aug; 55 (2):77-81.) It is known that sensitivity to products such as acid peels and isotretinoin (accutane) and UV (sunlight) exposure exacerbates rosacea, and it is also established that reactive oxygen species (ROS), or free radicals, are present in higher than normal concentrations in rosacea sufferers (Bakar O., et al., The effect of azithromycin on reactive oxygen species in rosacea, Clin Exp Dermatol 2007, 32:197–200.)
Oxofulleram reacts with ROS, reducing their concentration. There is some evidence that reduction of ROS can give beneficial results for some rosacea sufferers (Yoshioka A, et al., Anti-oxidant effects of retinoids on inflammatory skin diseases, Arch Dermatol Res 1986;278:177–83.). Tests show that Combray reduces the redness associated with inflammation caused by UV exposure. As the mechanisms are related causing the inflammation of sunburn and the inflammation of rosacea, namely elevated levels of ROS, it is of interest to Solenne to investigate the possibility of Combray providng relief to rosacea sufferers.
Effect of Oxofulleram on Markers of
Inflammation
Description of Study and Results 0.3%
(wt.) formulation of Oxofulleram in grape seed oil was applied to in
vitro skin models (Epiderm) to which UV was applied and a comparison was
made with hydrocortisone, a well known anti-inflammatory (though too
harsh to use on your face). Prostaglandin 2 (PGE2) is a well-known
marker of inflammation. It is one of the signalling molecules cells give
off when under stress, and which lead the immune system to begin the
process of inflammation (redness).
Figure 1.
PGE2 generation in UVB exposed Epiderm skin model. "Pretreat
Oxofulleram..." is Combray. Pretreat is application 24 hours prior to UVB
exposure. "Inf. dose" refers to product application where product is
left to stand on skin sample.
It can be seen in Figure 1 that Combray
(the first bar) reduced PGE2 significantly. These results are
consistent with ROS reduction by Oxofulleram.
